The Blackburn 10k is taking place on Sunday 17th November. Due to the amount of runners and the size of the event, road closures in the local area around Ewood Park and the Town Centre are necessary to ensure the safety of the 2000 participants expected in the race. We’ve popped all the information you need to know about the event as a local resident or member of the local community below, but if you have any questions please feel free to pop us an email on [email protected] and we’ll be more than happy to help.
The event village, Start, & Finish line are located at Ewood Park, As you can see from the map above, the race route then heads towards the Town Centre, loops around the Town Centre, and then heads back toward Ewood Park. All roads included on the race route will be closed during the race, but will be reopened on a rolling basis behind the runners to ensure minimal disruption for the town.
The race starts at 9:30am, with some roads closing at 9:15am and all roads reopening by 11am (with some roads opening earlier). The route has been designed as a single lap route to minimise disruption and to ensure the roads can safely reopen as soon as all runners have passed each point on the course. All closures will be managed by a certified traffic management company who can assist on the day, and diversion signage will be displayed during the road closure period to ensure vehicle access around the closures is possible throughout. There will also be signage up along the route providing further information before the race and on race day.
Below we have created a timeline of the expected road reopening times during and following the race, if you have any questions please don’t hesitate to get in contact with us on [email protected]:
